MACAO, China (8 November) – Three-time Olympic gold medalist Kaori Icho was honored along with several other London 2012 gold medalists by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

Icho became the first woman to win three gold medals in Olympic Games wrestling when she captured the 63kg crown in women's freestyle in London.

Ten men and 10 women from Asian countries were honored by the OCA at the OCA's general assembly in Macao for their achievements in London.

From Japan, Icho was joined by judoka Kaori Matsumoto (57kg), gymnast Kohei Uchimura (men's all-around) and boxer Ryuta Murata (middleweight).

Icho was also joined from the wrestling mats for OCA honors by Artur Taymazov (UZB), who won his third straight Olympic gold medal at 120kg in men's freestyle, and Hamid Soryan (IRI, 55kg), who won Iran's first gold medal in greco-roman.
