DOHA (May 8 ) – Anna KIMURA won the 55kg title and four Japanese teammates added a pair of silver and bronze medals each in the women’s events on Day Three of the Asian wrestling championships.
Kimura edged world military champion LI Hui (CHN), 6-6, on last-point criteria in the semifinals and then defeated 2009 world silver medalist HAN Kum-Ok (PRK) in the final by fall for the crown.
Meanwhile, former junior world medalists Yoshimi KAYAMA (60kg) and Kanako MURATA (63kg) took home silver medals after losses to Chinese opponents. Nanami IRIE (53kg) and Kayoko KUDO (69kg) added bronze medals following semifinal losses, also to Chinese rivals.
