BAKU (August 25-26) – Hiroki Sato topped all Japanese entries with a seventh place finish at 42kg in the greco-roman competition at the cadet wrestling world championships.
Sato of Gifu Kogyo high school was one of only three entries for Japan to record a win in the greco-roman competition. Kenichiro Fumita, a bronze medalist at 50kg a year ago, notched a win at 54kg but had to settle for 10th place overall and Yuta Miyaguni opened with a win at 100kg but ended the competition in ninth place.
