ZUSHI, Kanagawa (November 24) – Asia silver medalist Kazuma Kuramoto won the 66kg greco-roman crown and wrestlers from the Japan Self-Defense Forces team won 11 of the 19 gold medals handed out at the national shakaijin open wrestling tournament for senior-level, non-student wrestlers.
Kuramoto, a runner-up at 60kg in last year's national championships, was named the outstanding wrestler at the one-day tourney held at Zushi Arena in Kanagawa, southwest of Tokyo.
Taichi Oka and Ken Sogabe won the 96kg and 120kg titles, respectively, in men's freestyle and greco-roman. Sogabe's win in greco-roman prevented a sweep of all seven-weight categories by Japan SDF wrestlers.
