TOKYO (January 13) – Kofu (Yamanashi) high school teacher Satoru Goitsuka cruised to the 69kg crown in the division for wrestlers 51-55 years old for his fourth straight and a record 10th overall triumph at the All-Japan Masters wrestling championships.
Toshio Asakura, who missed last year's meet with an injury, won the 63kg crown for wrestlers 56-60 years old for his ninth overall masters' title.
Meanwhile, at the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center, Katsuyoshi Yonemori lost his opening match at 69kg in category for wrestlers 66 years old and older, but renewed his mark as the oldest wrestler in the masters' tournament at 88 years old.
