ULANBAATAR (June 8 ) – Yuhi FUJINAMI and Kirin KINOSHITA each grabbed silver medals on the final day of the Asian junior wrestling championships, while Yushi SAKAMOTO and Yusuke YOSHIKAWA added bronze medals for Japan.
Fujinami notched a pair of wins to advance to the finals at 66kg, but fell 10-18 to 2011 cadet world silver medalist Hassan YAZDANICHARATI (IRI). Kinoshita also recorded two wins at 74kg, but lost to 2012 cadet world bronze medalist Reza MOZAFFARI JOUBARI (IRI), 2-12.
Japan finished the men’s freestyle competition with two silver and three bronze medals – without a gold medal for a second year in a row — to finish in fourth place in the team standings behind Iran, Kazakhstan and India.
