LONDON (December 10-11) – Former junior world runner-up Kotaro Tanaka notched a pair of wins but had to settle for a silver medal in the London Prepares international invitational, a test event for next year's wrestling competition at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Tanaka of Waseda University was overpowered by Brent Metcalf (USA) 0-2 (0-5, 0-5) in the 66kg final at the ExCeL center which will serve as the host venue for seven Olympic sports and six Paralympic sports.
Meanwhile, Japan's other entry in the test event, Yasuhiro Suzuki, fell in a bronze medal final at 60kg.
